This is the story that started the curiosity for me many years ago.

In November of 1971 my beautiful grandmother was slipping away from us.

She had given birth to 13 children in her lifetime.  By this time in her life, she had been proceeded in death by 5 of her children and my grandfather.  As she laid in her bed at home surrounded by her remaining 8 children, she peacefully slipped into a coma.

I was only 8 years old at this time but I remember this day very plainly. Knowing she was nearing her death her children stayed by her side.

My grandmother started reaching her arms up as though reaching for someone. The attending nurse walked over and gently lay her arms back by her sides. After repeating this a few times, the children asked the nurse to please let her reach up if she wanted. Remember, my grandmother was not coherent.

She once again raised her arms up, opened her eyes and with loving smile said,  “Isn’t he beautiful?” Shortly after, she lowered her arms and once again, closed her eyes. A short time later, she passed away peacefully.

For all that were there, they wondered who did she see? Who came to cross her over? Jesus? It certainly could have been.  My grandmother was a strong Christian woman with a wonderful soul.  Could it have been her baby boy that she lost in the flu epidemic of 1917? Possibly my grandfather.

I do not know at this point in my life and I may never.

What I do believe, is we do not cross over alone. Someone comes to meet us.

This and many other stories prompted my desire to start this blog and study the fascinating stories from other people.

Perhaps you or someone you know has a story regarding this subject that you would like to share. I would love to hear from you.
